African-Americans Outstrip Other Groups in U.S. for Real-Time TV Watching

African-Americans continue to exceed in real-time television viewing, watching nearly 45 hours per week.

That is about 14 more hours weekly than any other group, according to the survey titled "Powerful. Growing. Influential. The African-American Consumer 2014 Report" done jointly by Nielsen and Essence.

Meanwhile, 92 percent of African-Americans indicate they tune in to radio each week, listening more than 13 hours weekly on average.

ArtPrize 2014: What’s Going On September 30 [Video]

The ArtPrize jurors' shortlists were announced Monday night for the sixth annual ArtPrize.

That means 16 juried finalists are in. The public vote continues, meanwhile, with first-round voting running through 11:59 p.m. Saturday.

Today (Tuesday, Sept. 30) is the seventh day of the 19-day public art exhibition, which runs through Oct. 12 in Grand Rapids.

Nearly 170,000 votes had been cast as of 8 a.m. today in first-round public voting, according to ArtPrize's vote tabulations.

The public voting helps determine a $200,000 grand prize winner, with another $200,000 grand prize selected from the jurors' shortlists.
